Melee
Is it possible to implement this? Even poorly? Id imagine it would just be a remodeled gun that fires a large projectile at melee range, I would imagine it being abit wonky, difficult to balance right, and melee vs melee would be "whoever can spam attacks first and fastest".

But this is 40k and melee is a big part of warfare, especially when you got Orkz around.

There is a melee mod that could be used to figure it out. However, i believe its unlikely to be among top priorities for the dev team, but i'm not them so i can't say that for certain

I saw from their discord that melee was already implemented, but custom animations had to be done first, and it depends on the weapon, if they do a choppa for the orks they will hafta have a totally different slashing animation from a gun with a bayonet. so yes melee is gonna be in it but they got a whole lotta animations to do for it and its not on the top of their list so expect it to take awhile, for now they are focusing on the main part of actually putting new units in and custom skeletons and animations are a pain to make.

Yea I cant imagine melee is a huge priority yet but im glad to hear its being implemented.

Can't have orkz without some choppas.

I find melee to be one of the defining pieces of 40k, a really huge deal, but I can understand the devs wanting to work out the weapons and customization first. I wonder if they have things like Dreadnoughts and Wraiths or Battlesuits planned. Could you imagine if they implemented melee for big things like that?

Well they do have a ground pound/stomp for the sentinel which is awesome. Love to be able to crush some eldar with a dreadnought gauntlet tho.

I think we're coming along well enough. Melee could be viable with the direction we're apparently heading in. Who knows :3

I mean. Having melee mechanics in Arma would open up a lot of situations for people who design missions. Riots, escape missions, etc

Never tried it before but it looks pretty good, pretty much allows you to melee attack with (almost) any weapon (or none at all)

pretty much goes as this

Primary: Rifle-butt
Secondary: Pistol-whip
Unarmed: Punch

it also allows some silent takedowns and grapples too.
