Here is what I have found in the few days ive played (mostly in the docile southlands):

Metal is everywhere, it is very abundant on the map. You can find spots with 10-100 nodes in various spots all around the map. (sorry I dont have a GPS yet and my map doesnt show numbers due to my video settings)

Crystal:
1. Under the Manticore Statue there is crystal up both walls on either side of the nest.
2. If you are facing the big Ape statue, go to the right along the ridge til you the cove at the end of a river, on the ledge at the end of the river is crystal (along with rich metal)
3. There is crystal in the desert. If you go into the desert thru the big dino skeleton, it is straight ahead near the sulfur.
4. Outside of the cave that is north of the dino skeleton is more crystal.

Obsidian:
There are nodes all over the southern islands. There is also some to the left and the right of the small river entrance on the south end of the mainland. They are mixed in with metal nodes.

Sulfur:
Found along ridges in the desert. The two spots I remember are found if you go thru the giant skeleton, one spot is straight ahead on the left. Its on the ground as well as up on the rock stacks. There is more along the scar ridge to the left of the wyvern mound (if you are facing the mound coming in from the skeleton).

Salt:
Found in the desert, I dont remember where, but its there and not hard to find since its so tall.

Oil:
There is 1 node on one of the furthest south islands.
There is a bunch of nodes on the biggest south island (the one connected by a stone bridge to the mainland). There is even more nodes up in the snow with metal on that same island.

Beaver Dams:
1. I have found beavers along the smaller rivers on the map. There is usually beavers on the west side of the small river in the south. The beavers spawn over where the swamp/carno/yuty/megalosaurus spawns are. The beavers get killed fast by those carnivores once they are activated. You can usually find dams by the little island in the middle of the river.
2. Another spot is the pond under the giant Ape statue.
3. Beavers can spawn in the river that branches north off the big river that runs thru the redwoods down south.

Gems:
I saw gems inside the huge cave entrance north of the desert skeleton. There was ALOT of them from what I could see, but there was a ton of hostiles in there too. I am not yet ready to venture in to see what goodies are inside. When I do, I will update this post.

Silk:
I heard a friend say he saw it in the desert, which is logical. Will post back when I find it, wasnt really looking.

Ovis (Mutton):
All over the place, if you explore at all you will find it lumped in with the other mass of herbivores. My base is on the far south island with redwood trees on it. A sheep spawns there for sure.

Honey:
You can find beehives on the ground on the biggest southern island in the mangrove trees.

This rocks. =)

The forest with low trees and dense forest near the redwood, this would be near all the monkey statues, there is confirmed Shinehorn's jumping around and silk. There is also Karkinos and another cave entrance with crystal in it. I didn't want to venture in thinking there might be hostiles in.

No silk flowers in the desert. You can only get it by killing Lymantria. However! There is a small pool in the overgrown forest and it can be found all around there...

Gas veins. Not found any yet. Not in either of the two caves with abberant resources in. One cave is mentioned by the op (near the dessert) the other huge resource cave (mentioned by Chelly - no beaties in there its safe) is in the overgrown forrest...

All resources seem readily availiable. Except blackpearls - - In the screen shots there are two dark ones with crystals, one with water and one with the white drops. I've not found either cave yet and i'm hoping blackpearls are in there (i'm playing single player and trilo's don't seem to spawn although i think they are supposed too which would be another way to get them)...

The western snow biome, over the double mountain range, has penguins for some organic polymer. The desert has mantis for organic polymer in the northern areas.

Desert biome near the ocean along the southern part has a gouge in it with crystal, obsidian, and metal through it.

alright i'll check those out. i farmed a few on karkinos but they stoped spawning. spawn rates are so random it's hard to establish methods for things other then "i'll just go out searching for it every time i need it" xD

I took the time to run around the island to see what was where, and compiled a list. I also enabled editing so you guys can add to it as you see more dinos! (and if something goofs up, I do have a copy in Word)

From the looks of it, a thing did goof up, the map is gone (might just be on my end but eh) and its kinda impossible to tell what spawns where anymore, might wanna get on that.

Has anyone found any of the Aberration mushrooms yet? We need them to tame the shinehorns.
