Oberon Wendigo
This topic has been pinned, so it's probably important

Gathering constructive criticism and feedback.
What I gathered right now from other to Steam sources is that tints are somewhat lacking. Working on it right now.

Do you have any propositions or criticisms on your mind? I'd love to hear them - I love being told that something is wrong, and I still have two days to fix the things.

I really like it! It looks great! I just don't think it suits Oberon :S

yeah it fits nekros more for my liking

Everybody will get an appropriate skin in time. For Oberon, I had an infested pan in mind, which this represents. For Nekros, something else is in works. Very noxious.

P.S. Also, a little bit of cuttlefish DNA might've accidentally crawled into the tank while this guy was incubating.

it's fantastic. People saying this should be for Nekros are being far too basic as skins that break the usual theme are what the game needs for even further customization, what's the point if all the skins are identical?

Great job, could use a bit more the horn accents but otherwise yet another fantastic tennogen

Looks good. Didn't know Carnifex was supposed to be infested. I just thought it was reptilian. The only think working against the skin is the shape of Oberon's body. Not really a problem with your skin but with the mesh because Oberon just has a weird body shape. I think your skin foes a great job despite this. The only suggestion I might have is to make the helmet a little smaller, only because it'll make the bigger parts of the body stand out more and look more like armor.

@Someone, most likely. - Working on tints right now. Will revise the helmet too, got some feedback from DE on some textures there, so expect better results.

@Apoyllyon - they are all absolutely infested, just different strand of infestation, purpose bred. I like to call my flock the "solidifed" infestation, with more gene-engineered parts and less random growths. I might juggle with his size a little bit, will see what will happen.

(P.S. But really, write Carnifex down to my own incompetence. At the time, I was only starting, so I had hard time learning the ropes of infested design and more importantly, establishing my own style. I like how she turned out, though. Would revisit her tints)

@IgnisDraconis - Thanks. Had to redo broken account, though, but expect more. Frankly, better quality too. It's crazy how much I'm learning from working with these things.

I really like this. I think there's a really high level of detail in it. That said, I'm not sure if this really fits the infested Pan theme you mentioned and i think it might be due to the sleekness of the horns. So, I suggest maybe adding a few more natural and "earthly" elements to it (like dying leaves / infestation coming off the horn with glowy-cored pustules that vaguely resemble leaves, maybe a ram-ish stylization to it, etc). That's my two-cents. Looking forward to seeing what you do with this and how the eventual skin comes out! :D

It looks great, just like the original carnifex skin! However, I would sudgest that the side horns on the helmet be a little farther apart. No other critizism can be given by me, for this is awesome!

I really like the concept of this alot. I love how it gives oberon (almost a kind of a dainty fairy frame) a cool rugged vibe. Its something new and fresh for Oberon, and I love it. The only problem I could see, is it slightly representing the ash helmets, but again, I still think it looks awesome.

I'm loving it. Many other cretors are trying for an Oberon prime helmet replacement (which i'm ok with, since the default one is awful), so I apreciate that you're doing your own thing with a unique style. That said, some metallic bits here and there might look cool on it, but that's just my opinion. Apart form that, it looks like a finished job.

First of all, I love the textures on it. theyre very rough and scaly. It also has a sort of sinister look which I find really cool. However I really mean no harm by what I'm about to say. When I saw the thumbnail for this, the first thing that I thought was "Oh, a new Ash helmet on the workshop." because it VERY strongly resembles a sort of reimagined Ash Scorpion helmet. It just doesn't say "Oberon" to me at a glance. Other than that, I don't really have much to say.

Best feedback I can offer at this point is to having a unifying name to tie them all together akin to the "Graxx" series.
I wish I could like and favorite this more, Oberon never gets any love and still has only one tennogen helm so far, it is nice to see people still trying to give him cool stuff. Don't get me wrong all his tenno helms look astonishing, but I absolutely look the name for this one. The legend of the wendigo is actually pretty interesting and dark. Only downside is that it's only a helm and not a full reskin...
CheekyColossus 6 Nov, 2017 @ 12:39am
this is what oberon needs! i dont use him cause of his design to be honest doesnt seem interesting to me not even his prime variant but i might give him a try if this skin is released:Excalibur:
