Long War Leader Pack WOTC

It conflicts with WotC, is missing icon images, botches the UI if removed
A WARNING to anyone who is thinking about installing and using this mod. DON'T!

This mod is BROKEN, conflicts with War of the Chosen (WotC), its image icons are missing in missions, and it CANNOT be completely removed -- it messes up the Avenger UI upon uninstall:

(1) The leadership training (or "officer training") conflicts with other soldier assignments like covert action. This mod does not check to see if a soldier is already assigned to another activity like a covert mission, and other assignments do not check to see if a soldier is training for an officer perk. So you can assign a soldier to be trained for leadership AND go on a covert mission, at the same time. That is gonna cause problems like having the soldier permanently stuck in a covert action or officer training. You can accidentally and easily assign a soldier for officer training and another assignment because neither assignment shows the soldier is already on a duty, and you won't discover the mistake until you realize the soldier has been gone and unavailable for too long, (i.e. "What is Jane Kelly doing? It's been awhile since I last used her... why is she still unavailable? Why is she still greyed out in the roster? Wait, what... ♥♥♥♥!") Then you will be forced to backtrack to a much earlier save game, which is an extremely annoying big waste of time.

(2) Some active officer abilities -- like "Focus Fire" -- are missing their icons in missions. The image placeholders just show a messed-up, ugly "IMG" message, (the default placeholder for any missing image.) I saw that other users like Phnx already reported the missing icons more than a year ago in April 2019. The problem still has not been fixed as I am writing this in May 2020.

(3) I tried to removed this mod... and it could NOT be completely removed! After I had the problems with this mod, I uninstalled/unsubscribed to it. The mod was removed, but its soldier assignment icon/slot was still in the Avenger. The icon/slot was left behind and showed a message "data is missing" when I moved my mouse onto it. I tried using the "Remove/Unlink Missing Mods" mod, which did not work and left a yellow square box in the place of the soldier slot. So basically this mod does not even do the proper housekeeping for removal/uninstall.

Beyond all the above-mentioned bugs and technical issues, this mod also has a serious game balancing and pacing problem: the training time for a leader is simply too long.

This mod was originally designed to be used for the "Long War" mod. The Long War drags out and prolongs the campaign. The Long War makes every activity or task much longer. So, in Long War it makes sense for an officer training time to take much longer to complement a much longer campaign. However, War of the Chosen without the Long War 2 mod is a much shorter campaign. The overly protracted officer training does not keep pace with the shorter WotC campaign. The officer training simply takes up too much time to be meaningful or useful in a shorter campaign.

Every officer ability (except the final one) takes 8 days to train. The final ability takes 18 days to train, which is the longest soldier activity/assignment in the game. Every officer ability training, which takes 8 days minimum, is longer than any other soldier activity or training in WotC. Everything else in WotC takes less than a week. The longest covert action mission is 7 days. The longest soldier training in WotC is level-3 bond training, which takes only 6 days, (which is still shorter than any officer training at any level;) and the level-3 bonds train two soldiers for multiple abilities and benefits at once, while the officer training train ONE soldier for ONE ability. In terms of activity length, only some facility constructions take longer than 18 days. However, only need to construct a facility ONCE and in ONE room, while you want to use the same officer training room -- with only ONE slot -- to train multiple officers.

So this mod was poorly conceived in term of pacing, keeping in line with the time frame in the official campaign. Unfortunately, the original developer Pavonis Interactive, after releasing this mod, has never bothered to make changes or update this mod. IMO this mod really needed some appropriate adjustments to keep pace with the the shorter WotC campaign.

(Admittedly, I edited an .ini document to shorten the training time, but it is not explained in the the ReadMe documentation or anywhere.)
