Some details that could make the difference
Hi everyone !

First, let me start by saying that this map is really gorgeous. I think the design is very professionnal and the textures used are very nice. However i constated some issues in term of realism in some parts of the map and i think it could be easy to fix them. I'm not a level designer but i'm very picky when I explore a level. and i hope the map makers are still updating the map

Here is the first thing i noticed :

- The double door in the old town area could'nt be opened if it was real. The door is too high and it would touch the bricks on the top and on the sides. There is also a cornice around the pillar that would block the door, here is some screenshots : http://prntscr.com/hd5or1 and http://prntscr.com/hd5ql4 . The solution could be to have a little gap between the door on the top and it wouldn't be a problem because i live in a city very similar to this style and it's always with a gap.

- The foam used in studios and streaming rooms sticks out of the wall a lot more. In some rooms i saw some foam on the wall and saw that it was only like 1mm thick but in real life it's like 5cm ( http://prntscr.com/hd5rd1 and http://prntscr.com/hd5rur compared to real life : http://prntscr.com/hd5sc3 ) The solution could be to add a bit more thickness to the foam.

It's very late so for the moment i only found those little details and maybe it's not worth your time, but i thought that it could add to the perfection of this map to correct some details and maybe it could make the difference if a valve developper go through your map ! I'll check for more little details and come back to this post ! Feel free to post your own dicoveries :)

honestly. just to add my opinion to what you said. you're right about 1 thing. the foam should be thicker but for the doors. It's actually believable and should stay like this because it's a movie set. who knows the door might not need to be opened. I just think they look fine like they are. it's size or position difference could end up affecting gameplay if they are tweaked. what I mean by gameplay is different angles and possible boost spots to shoot from the gap of the door. or if it's large enough grenades could go through. If the creator of this map can make it work without affecting anything I just mention then yes I'd agree that it would look better. and even for the foam. if it affects visabily of some angles then I don't think it's worth going for realisim in this case

I share your opinion that if it affect the gameplay it should stay as it is, my statement was just to maybe get a little more realist on some points (but don't worry the map is very well designed and could be a real studio) because even if the door is a movie prop, in hollywood for exemple they make it real and working. Judging by the fact that behind the door is the backstage mean that the door would be closed if there was a movie scene, and actually it couldn't be possible because the cornice and the bricks would prevent that to happen.

This is just my opinion and i would totaly understand if the devs didn't care about that.

Also, i'm sorry if my english is not perfect and hope my point is understandable.

Something else :

There is a lot of cables in this map, but not a single electrical outlet. For exemple in the entrance of the studio, there is a lot of cables at the same place and maybe it would be a good place to put some outlets ( http://prntscr.com/hdkltm )

Update : There is some outlets in the "carpentry" so i think it could be easy to have a little more in the hallway, and other places where cables are on the ground. ( http://prntscr.com/hdkmif )

We'll place some more outlets, you're right about that :P. As for the doors and foam we'll look into them. At the moment the doors are indeed clipping through. We'll have a look at them.

Your feedback is very much appreciated at all times. We plan on at least updating the map untill the end of the mapcore competition which is somewhere around january and afterwards implement changes where we deem them necessary! :)

It's a very lovely map and i hope the best for the competition. I'll investigate a bit more on the details and keep you up to date about that !
