Left 4 Dead 2

Deathcraft II (Part 1 of 7)
Kyle's Review of "Deathcraft" - 5/5
Well-crafted fun. 5/5 stars.

Deathcraft has a ludicrous dedication to accurately recreating its source material, and it adds to the charm tenfold. Textures, models, sounds, particle effects, mechanics and even boss fights have been painstakingly ported to L4D2 to create an authentic experience. It's a spectacular showcase of modding talent, especially for 2012, and you can feel the developers' love for Minecraft in every block.

Aesthetics aside, this campaign is also well designed. Exploration is rewarding without being overwhelming thanks to good hints. The pacing is just right, events are unique, and it's fairly challenging.

My only gripe is that the challenge doesn't always feel intentional. Enemies have inaccurate hitboxes due to the proportions of their Minecraft models, and it's hard to see through the incredibly thick precipitation. There's also a key hunt in Map 4 that could've been streamlined.

Those are minor issues, though. Deathcraft is still a must-play for any Minecraft fan.
