It appears the game is crashing now after today's updates (NSC-2 and Guilli's Planet Modifiers updated 3/6/22
When is it crashing? Because I was playing the pack on my savegame like 10 min ago
Well, it crashes after the 100% of the game's loading to the main menu, meaning between the fully loaded moment to the menu transition the game crashed (CTD with Paradox error)
I've checked the load order with my friend (he plays with me as multiplayer) and it was all okay, the checksum had changed and then we weren't able to load the game anymore
It started happening right after updating the mods I've mentioned before
Also thanks for the quick answer, sadly I was quite busy trying to find another mod to replace NSC-2 without crashing the game (Extra Ship Components)
Yeah I tried to add ESC but it crashed the game consistently unless I didn't include the override mod, which would make it horribly unbalanced.
I'll look into the crash a bit more, thanks for notifying me of this.
Edit: I just resubbed to both NSC2 and GPM and I got to the main menu fine. I'm using a slightly different pack than this one with a different order (for testing out new mods and fixing errors), so let me check if that is the problem
Edit 2: Ok, unsub and resub to everything, and it should work. I just tested it and it worked fine
Thank you for the answer once again.
The problem was fixed automatically since we've tried to play right on the next day. I think it was a checksum problem or something related.
But, still, thanks!
I don't have much info, but I and several others were experiencing crashes with the error log particularly references Under Siege events. When we removed the mod, the crashes ceased.
I can try to test it again and get you an error log.
Also out of curiosity how did you find my modpack? Probably through my mod I assume.
Thanks, that would be great!
I first found your modpack from browsing the modding den discord. You also commented on Under Siege about testing to include it in the pack.
To be quite honest, ZOFE just didn't add enough for all the hassle and problems it introduces. Becoming an Ascended Empire, getting custom subjects, and being able to bypass borders are all pretty cool, but ultimately just fluff. Mods like ACOT, Gigastructures and AoT provide all the real the endgame content such as buildings, ships, weapons etc.
It was either ZOFE or Ethics & Civics (as the new ethics would result in some empires being unable to Ascend), and I think Ethics & Civics adds a lot more content than ZOFE.
As for NSC, I mainly replaced it with Lite because the Megastructures were kinda OP, and the starbase buildings were unnecessary with the other starbase mod I added. Otherwise it is the same.
It will probably be updated sometime. For now just order them manually according to the collection’s order
It's a neat mod indeed, but in my experience using it with a bunch of other mods leads to totally broken games when that mod starts firing around midgame.
I've personally had at least 4 campaigns become totally ruined when Shroud Rising would start to spawn it's events. In each of them, the events would start firing around midgame as intended, then the game would encounter repeated CTD's that were impossible to get past. Sometimes you'd make it a week or two past where you CTD'd, other times only days. Inevitably, it ruined saves.
Thanks for keeping this list updated like you do man, there's very few quality ones out there that are still curated and maintained.
I also wanted to ask, would adding something like Sins of the Prophets and Legendary Worlds be compatible with this list?
Really the only few minor mods that are must haves IMO, that are missing.
