I just wasted some paint on the carapace, for it appears not to have any effect. It's no big deal since it's just cheap paint, but I'd like to see paint somewhere eventually. It would be too disorienting to put paint over the whole set of armor plates, but maybe on the shoulder pads or something? I don't know, but best of luck whatever you do.
