I'm testing around a bit, less AI actions, more time for attack plans & lower intervalls etc. - and force my CPU to do more.
@evilbobthebob: i've not run it in debug mode yet, but is there a problem with the garbage collector? any easy way to lower the running scripts without crippling the AI too much?
for now i'm trying it with ServiceRate & UnitServiceRate = 20 @ galacticfreestore.lua
.
I'll take it with humor - it's the revenge of the AI, fight back with lags to counter all those raids :D
Playing (messing) with the .lua and .xml files does not do the trick for me, yet - and my CPU is lazy as always, it'll not spend more than 5% on this game (Ryzen 1700x), but it could be the known energy-saving bug with AMD CPUs - same with the clausewitz engine and some other games/engines.
There are mods that increase the amount of RAM that can be used, but the game doesn't support multiple mods out of the box.
but with my new rig rtx 2060super i9900k no problems completely playable even with the largest campaigns and lots of ai units.
it is the ai units that cause the lagg for this mod the tech trees to be specific which makes this mod unique anyhows. I got 16gb of ram.
This mod is certainly not meant to be played with old or weak pc's despite being an ancient game by now. I can also run this in 4k and smooth enough only sometimes when AI is moving things it laggs but nothing that would prevent gaming.
