This version of Dead Before Dawn is much more balanced and playable compared to the Older/’Extended’ versions on the Workshop.

However, Dead Before Dawn DC is still a pretty mediocre experience overall at present, in my opinion.

Like its older versions, it still has major navigation issues as a result of its non-linear, labyrinthine areas that wrap around and misleading saferoom signs, lots of arbitrary-seeming triggered horde, Tank, and Witch spawn events (my friend even had a Witch spawn in around a corner in front of them, at the propane tank detonation area, which we had already been in moments before, resulting in him getting surprised and instantly killed by it).

The Finale was also somewhat poorly designed, with a large hole confusingly placed next to the intended path; which appears designed for you to jump down it safely. However, this only resets your progress back to the bottom floor of the car park.

Just like on on Dead Before Dawn DC's older versions, the Finale was also somewhat poorly designed, with a very large hole confusingly placed next to the intended path near the end of the second storey; which appears designed for you to jump down safely. However, jumping down this hole only resets your progress back to the bottom floor of the car park. This is of course frustrating, because this is all still the Hard Gauntlet phase of the Finale, where resetting your progress can easily result in you running out of supplies/ammo and perishing.

Ultimately, I definitely didn't hate Dead Before Dawn DC, and you can tell that a lot of love went into designing this Custom Map. However, gameplay-wise, it needs some significant improvements before I can rate it higher than 5/10 for Quality.
