About "no free edicts" crashes in map 3
I would like to make a statement regarding the crashes that people experience in map 3

In that map, there's a problem that we flirt with the limit of props that the engine can load in memory at once. Historically that meant that when you use high shared memory pool , and depending on what your OS and graphics card is, what your videocard memory is, the game could crash due to the "no free edicts" error. We indeed use lots and lots of stuff there.

What you COULD do is try to set shared memory pool in grapphics option to low and see if you still crash with your particular PC. But in that particular map it's the actual engine running at it's limit so it could still crash. If it doesn't crash, you're in luck and you can keep playing but your sprays will look a bit low res, as decals and overlays are redused in texture resolution with this option, in order to free up memory.

That version of soruce is also very old in the way it manages memory so even if you have a better card, it will still not play nice if it reaches it's own limit.

However if you still crash: Somebody made a fix for it here:

it will basicly add an extra map because he split the map in 2 to avoid this crash. I have personally a double feeling about this.

It's good good but kinda non canonical with out vision. It fragments the community playing this map. It doesn't actually matter if you play it in single player like that but now there are 2 versions existing on some dedicated servers and players having the same data will be removed as soon as "cleanup" loads. It's not a very clean way of doing it but I appraciate that someone took the time to try find a solution. The mall maps are very dense. That's why it looks more spectacular than the mall in dead center, yet it comes at a cost.

To fix this from our side we might have to do the same thing as some people will just have older videocards and the engine loves to crash on windows 7 when you have a card that isn't larger than 2 gb video ram with our campaign. That's what we noticed from people throughout the ears.

I am only responsible for gameplay scripts and music in this campaign, and I have not the authority to update it on the workshop. or I'll create fragmented workshop situation. Darth has to update it. He's very busy rightnow with his day job!

As a stopgap solution. You could just remove yourself from the workshop items , delete them and use that fixed campaign itself. But first try my solution.

I noticed that sometimes happened when I have too many mods on my game. However, that also included the very few times that i was on vanilla mode, and this occurred. The only fix I can think of right now is to not have too many programs open and graphic settings to low in case your game lags during gameplay.
