What's your point

I think the point he tried to make is that, well, it's not what most would call "a great weapon idea".
It's a brick. C'mon, man. I like the joke it made, with it's australian stereotype in the name, but I see no reason to make it an offical weapon...

It's TF2, are you kidding me? In the last update they added a weapon that is literally just a glove that you slap people with.

The scout has a fish that he hits people with.

I mean one of the meta weapons is literally a ham sandwich. A brick is a great throwable item that would fit into the game's humor effortlessly.

to be honest, even though this idea is as basic as the word basic, i couldnt help but feel the satisfaction from throwing a bloody brick at people

i mean come on, throwing a jar with your own piss in it just makes you feel dirty

Eh well, I don't play the game anymore so I wouldn't know all of that. Still wouldn't consider this a great idea, though.

Any TF2 player will know; the stupider the idea, the better it will fit into TF2. Would love to see this in the game ! :steamhappy:

That also makes me seriously question why anyone would doubt that this would become an official weapon. Like, how do you know that 'volvo' is gonna ignore this weapon if the last update gave players a glove as a weapon to slap with? Do they ignore all the good ideas regularly?

alas,

It's probably because weapons take a lot of time and effort to impliment and making stats that aren't completely overpowered or underpowered must be difficult.

If sniper was able to toss bricks at people, I would actually play as him.

Honestly people don't realise how hard it is to make a weapon actually work in the game, gameplay-wise.
1. You have to make a whole new weapon's stats, that actually is balanced, or else people will sook and say it's unbalanced.
2. If you don't make unique stats for it, people will have a big sook about it being a reskin for an existing weapon.
3. Likely if you did add stats that weren't OP, it would not be as good as any of the other weapons and would likely be hardly used. I mean how much can you do with a damn brick than make it damage and maybe slow someone down, all the while you could just use the SMG that dishes out more damage quicker. Then people would have a big sook about it being a crappy, comparatively useless, weapon.
4. If the stats are actually great and people think it's actually a good weapon, people will have a sook about being forced to use this because it's 'the meta' or whatever stupid thing you people call it.
5. If you don't add it, people will have a big sook about it not being added.

It's impossible to make everyone happy. IMPOSSIBLE!

This is all stuff you should know how to handle as a game dev
