Shadowrun: Hong Kong - Extended Edition

CalFree in Chains
Best romance I've ever played
So I've been on a pretty huge shadowrun kick recently, and I just finished my second playthrough of Caldecott Caper and CalFree in Chains. I was blown away by how good both stories were after my first run through; the entire ensemble cast was fleshed out and dynamic and interesting in their own right, to the point where I feel more strongly for these crews than I have for squadmates in most triple A games I have played. Missions were challenging and varied, and I can only think of one of two puzzles that left me feeling genuinely stumped. And in general, the quality of the writing was fantastic both in the way it conveyed information, and in the artistry of the prose.

But the reason I really wanted to write this came from my second playthrough of CalFree.

You can have a canonical polyamorous relationship. The game doesn't force you to choose between one or the other, and going this route gives notably different team interactions and dialogue. There's even a moment where one partner brings up the fact that they are developing feelings for the other partner. This was the first time I've ever seen this kind of relationship--my kind of relationship--portrayed in a game, and portrayed *well.*

Thank you, Cirion, and thank you to everyone else who was involved in making these stories. They rank among the best RPGs I have played and I will recommend them wholeheartedly. I saw in a different thread that you are not planning to make any more stories for Shadowrun, so I wish you the best on whatever new creative endeavors you pursue, and I would be happy to support them.

TL;DR - Antumbra Saga, Caldecott Caper, and CalFree in Chains fully deserve their glowing reputations.
