Crusader Kings II

When the World Stopped Making Sense
Imperial Reconquests gone
I started out my game as emperor Romulus, and actually managed to make him a brilliant strategist of a ruler, and I sired multiple children to the throne. Apart from being forced to maintain gavelkind, I wasn't threatened at all, and I began to slowly reconquer western rome. I took the Vandalic Islands and half of Burgundy, quickly taking what was directly, and de jure, part of the Western Roman empire.

Even after I died, I ruled as my son, Paulinus, for 8 years before he died of severe stress, and as his daughter, I ruled until I committed suicide at the age of 88 after becoming infirm. Even than, I had made several reconquests against former roman lands, and by that point almost all of gaul and all of italia, and even a large chunk of Hispania was under my rule.

My heir, thanks to some claim pressing I had made decades before, was my grandson. The basileus of the Eastern Roman empire. So, when I finally died, Both the western and eastern halves of the empire belonged to me.

There was... just a small problem.

My threat level is high, that might play a part... but the imperial reconquest casus beli is gone, and it's the year 612. I can't declare them for either half of the empire.

Why?

Could you provide us pictures and details of what you are trying to reconquer? Because in addition to the requirement being of a Romance culture, only certain areas can be targeted with the CB.

Put simply, at one point or another, the Eastern Roman empire lost the province of Europa to an independence movement, effectively losing Constantinople itself. The entire CB, no matter where I put it, especially there, Is gone.

I've taken several screenshots, all of which should be publicly viewable.

What happens if you reunite the two empires?
That one Guy 2 Mar, 2018 @ 11:08am
How can I do that? Wouldn't you know?

Apparently, I could destroy one half of the empire, and than the reconquest casus belis come back. Thing is, I still can't create the empire, or recreate the other half after. I don't understand why.

Through the reunite decision. And yes, I know, but things clearly aren't working as they should.

Well, the reunite decision is gone. For some reason.

Basically, I can do "Last Roman Empire" by destroying one half of the roman empire, and than I get a weak claim on the original roman empire. i can't create it though, because it says that the recreation decision has a special condition: never.

But I thought you held the two empires on the screenshots?

I do.

The Reunification decision isn't there. Is it because I don't have legacy of rome, or something?
Loup  [developer] 3 Mar, 2018 @ 9:54pm
Yes, you have to have Legacy of Rome to have access to the Roman Empire, as per vanilla limitations.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. So no imperial reconquest?
Loup  [developer] 4 Mar, 2018 @ 10:48am
No, the way the mod works right now you can't use it with both titles without LoR.
