Loup, this is your mod. You wrote these custom events. You drew the map. You learned about the fall of rome and a space of time little people actually know about, and was barely recorded. Than, you overhauled the world and created a new one in a game over a million people have bought.
This mod is special. There are many like it, but none have ever given anyone this perspective or experience. It is unique, it is amazing. But this is an imperfect mod in an imperfect game, and improving this mod is a concern that more than one person should have to deal with. Listening to ideas can only broaden your perspective.
Thank you, and good luck.
FYI, this is Enlil's mod, not Loup's.
I have simply been a developer since 2014, and haven't contributed more than anyone else. Therefore, I'm not sure what you are talking about. I haven't removed anyone's hard work out of a whim, and I haven't made any unilateral decisions. Quite to the contrary, we have a quite consensus-based approach to development both internally and externally, and have even had polls and threads on the official forum to determine the direction.
The private Discord will never be official because the forum is the official platform. Those are the Paradox forum rules, not something which is under my personal authority. Everyone is allowed to suggest things wherever they want, but we will continue to respect and enforce the Paradox rules. On the forum there are over 1327 replies with suggestions, and even more can be found here on or in the private group. Therefore I don't think speaking about one person, or just a few, is an accurate description of the situation when it comes to suggestions, since that kind of portrayal disregards all of the other contributors through the years.
In fact, most of the features we have added recently have been features suggested by others. For instance, the foederati system we added in the previous beta was made from scratch based upon the suggestions of a former developer. The melting-pots that we added in this beta were also an user suggestion, that I myself actually opposed originally, but the thorough discussion and exchanges on the matter made us agree to implement it in consensus. Same with the Rise of Islam which is in development, the final retained suggestion is largely based upon player feedback, and without said feedback and internal discussion it wouldn't look like that.
No ideas are taboo for us, as long as they fit in with the vision of Enlil, correspond with the scope of the mod and are allowed as per Paradox user modding rules they will be considered. That does not mean all ideas will be incorporated instantly, because everything on which there is disagreement can be debated and discussed on the official channels (or anywhere else, but then it is less likely to be added since there would be no direct contact with those actively working on the mod). If something ends up not being added for some reason, it will be explained accordingly. Please raise the specific cases, we are all humans and can forget things. This does not prevent you from creating sub-mods and adding it yourself though, something which we encourage.
Hopefully that clears up the misconceptions or misunderstandings, please send me a PM on the forums, a private message here or a message in this thread if you have any further concerns about decision-making.
It is not a fight, it is a decision made based upon his inappropriate behaviour. Making remarks about "fight" is not going to make anyone reconsider, especially not when TurtleShroom is free to distribute his content as he wishes as long as he gives credits where it is due and requires the main mod. He can also submit suggestions, just not be involved in the team due to his behaviour.
If you have any constructive feedback to provide based upon facts rather than libel and attacks, please do so on any official channel of the mod, or via private message if you prefer. Fake news are not welcome.
I did not ask for that article to be written. I did not start that article, and I haven't participated in it. Yet, as I am mentioned in it by name, and as Loup has misrepresented me with impunity, I believe that I am entitled to a defense.
Loup, I humbly request that you unlock the "We Need to Talk" thread and allow me to defend myself. If I am the topic of a discussion, I should be allowed to defend myself. Preventing me from saying my peace would only confirm what the others have said- as I have -about you in that article.
If you however want to talk about mod features to improve, suggestions, bug reports and so on, you are more than welcome to use the available official mod-related channels. This feedback should however be grounded in facts, not baseless attacks which will be dealt with in an adequate way to debunk them.
As for the assets to "redo", the same applies for you as for anyone else. That is that you are free to do as many sub-mods as you want, but you can't reuse the whole mod to release a stand-alone. Therefore anything you release based upon WtWSMS would have to require the main mod. Of course you can also start from scratch to do another separate Migrational Era mod, but then that is not something which would be related to WtWSMS or based upon it.
