Tet Offensive
Grå Gås 22 May, 2015 @ 6:21am
quick question
Wasn't the Tet Offensive when the VC attacked the cities as a last attempt that was brodcasted live to the US and gave the American people the image that the US was fighting a losing battle which caused the end of the war in the long run? If so, should'nt the setting be Saigon (Ho Chi Min city today) be the setting?

Still a good map though...

The Tet Offensive was a large scale operation conducted by North Vietnam during the Tet Holiday of 1968 (hence the name). There were several battles during the offensive, some large like the Battle of Hue, Khe Sanh and Saigon) and some minor skirmishes, the likes of which are presented in this map. The Tet Offensive was the first time the media was able to broadcast the war first-hand, however, the war was already unpopular, but it certainly didn't help. I do agree with you that this map doesn't really represent the Tet Offensive that well, being a generic jungle and all, as opposed to it being set in Hue or Saigon; a great map nonetheless.

Sorry for the late reply, you've probably already researched yourself or don't care anymore, but just in case someone had the same question i'm going to post this anyway.
