I changed my settings in this mod such that all creatures that lay extra small eggs can be tamed with food baits appropriate to their diet, all creatures that lay small eggs can be tamed with basic kibble or better, all creatures that lay medium eggs can be tamed with simple kibble bait, etc.

The idea is that this creates a progression in the game where you can tame very extra small egg laying creatures, then produce extra small eggs, then produce basic kibble, then tame creatures that lay small eggs, etc. to work your way up the chain. Largely, egg size is correlated with utility/power of dinos so you get a nice progression through the game this way.

To make things a bit more challenging and encourage actually knocking out dinos (one of the harder things to do in the game) I also made it so any dino that would be aggressive requires a KO before you can bait them. This means most carnivores require you to knock them out first, as well as some of the more powerful herbivores like stegos. I mostly just left the mammals alone, there aren't too many and most require mid-level kibble already which felt reasonable.

It would be great if settings along these lines were integrated into the mod directly, either by default or as an option. It was fairly time consuming to set it all up but I think it really improves on the challenge of the game and helps create a strong sense of progression as you have to go looking for dinos as stepping stones toward the Allosaur rather than just making 50 raw meat baits and taming a pack of them before level 20.
