Setting up a cluster server
Hi there,
I am running an unofficial cluster server with ragnarok, Crystal isles and Valguero maps. My question;
Is it possible to run this mod on a cluster server where the player credits follow the player from server to server within the cluster?, if so, how would I go about doing this?

Sorry guys, I have just come across this thread posted earlier.

It answers my questions and I hope that a cluster-wide option becomes available.

There is a way you can use it on clusters now that I am saving data to a file rather than just the map, but it requires a certain setup that some servers do not allow.

The Packs / Players are now saved to /Saved/SaveGames/TCsAutoRewards/
As long as all clusters point to the same folder, they will all load and save the same files

Thanks for getting back to me. Hopefully my server provider is setup this way.

/Any info on how this can be setup if you own the server?
I contacted my server provider G-Portal and found out that the way they setup their cluster server is that they have each server setup seperately and then they use a ClusterID to give permission to travel between servers. This setup has the files for each server seperate to one another (each server has their own .ini files/ Mod Files).

Now if you have different mods on each server, you will only be able to transfer items from mods that are on both servers.
For example, I am running Crystal Isles and Valguero maps. If i try and transfer my character across servers from Crystal Isles to Valguero, and i have Map specific items (like Crystal Wyverns in cryopods), I get a message saying something like "Cannot Transfer, Unknown item/s in inventory, please check your inventory and try again".
I believe this would be the same with Mod specific Items also. (you would need to have said mod installed on each server to be able to transfer between servers.

So with a small amount of testing in my case with G-Portal, it seems for the credits to follow the player between servers on a cluster server, I have two options;

1. Export/import as an admin onto each server.
2. Copy "player data" file from one server to the next.

Option 1 I would need to physically log into each server and be in Game to Export player data, then travel to the next server and then import said player data.

Option 2.
I can do without having to log my character into the actual server. But I would need to restart server after each time I copy over the player data.

It works perfectly for a single server though.

I also believe what TimmyCarbine stated** in that if you were to setup a single designated location for your PlayerData/PackData, then when you update Player/Pack Data on one map, every other map in your cluster (as long as they all point to the same single location), will update too.
You wouldn't need to travel between servers Exporting/Importing data each time you wanted to update credits.

** "The Packs / Players are now saved to /Saved/SaveGames/TCsAutoRewards/
As long as all clusters point to the same folder, they will all load and save the same files".

Unfortunately for my situation, I haven't found an easy work around. Either option I have, has quite a bit of effort and time involved and as I am working fulltime, and have a young family, I just don't have the time to keep the credits updated across servers.

I will be however, keeping an eye on the developement and hoping that I will find an easier option in the future.
I'm also not sure if there is any coding or anything that i can incorporate to make each server look in a specific location for a mod. (have x1 copy of each mod for x3 different servers.)
