Rebalanced Teching Costs
I found the vanilla balance for tech costs didn't work well with Proficiency Class Pack: Marines can get away with Rifles just fine and it's more cost efficient to spec your Marksmen for Vektor Rifles than to buy the higher tier snipers.

I rebalanced the supply costs of the late game weapons with this in mind, keeping the overall total the same.

Assault Rifles and Bullpups now make up the bulk of your resource costs.
Cannons, Sniper Rifles and Vektor Rifles, as optional weapons, are much cheaper.
Shotguns are somewhere in between, given they're a powerful option for two classes but by no means mandatory.


I reckon this might be useful to someone else so I figured I'd share.

Stick these lines in your XCOMStrategyTuning.ini if you want to use them.

Diff_2 refers to Commander. If you're playing on Rookie or Veteran, change it to Diff_0 or Diff_1. Legendary uses its own pricing systems.

The LW2 secondaries I'd reconfigured to pretty negligible costs, but they rolled out a new update with Commander-level pricing and I haven't had a proper look at it yet.

Ideally I'd bundle the LW2 weapons with the vanilla ones (Combat Knife upgrades with Sword, Holotargeter upgrades with GREMLIN, Sawed-Off Shotgun and Arc Thrower upgrades with Pistol). That way you're not discouraged to avoid diverse builds to keep your teching costs down.
how to change the schematic cost for legendary?

Legendary has its own costs stored in XCOMStrategyTuning.ini. I play modded Commander, so I didn't rebalance those.
