Night Terror
Kyle's Review of "Night Terror" - 4/5
Creative and charming, but too difficult. 4/5 stars.

Night Terror is a genius idea for a custom campaign, taking place in five different dreams inspired by specific works of pop culture, from movies to comics to theme parks. The bedroom at the start of every map has a poster teasing the theme of the upcoming dream, and though I'm normally not a fan of putting real movie posters in L4D campaigns, it works brilliantly here to build anticipation.

The level design is generally kitschy and strange, as you'd expect, but it's still fun to play due to good pacing. Lots of custom assets are also used to make every map feel completely distinct, and the levels strike a balance between open and enclosed spaces so you never feel like you're lost in a maze.

My one criticism is the incredibly high difficulty, ESPECIALLY with bots. Beyond the crazy Infected spawns, there are instant death traps and bots can struggle to pick up health items. Still, definitely give this one a go on Easy (or with friends)!
