Multiplayer? Ideas for improving "A Mod of Ice and Fire"
I see that there has been some discussion of using this mod in multiplayer, but I was wondering if there is a way to enable this feature that perhaps I am missing? In the description of the features of the mod (in Civ V) it clearly states "Multiplayer: YES" but then there is no option for multiplayer, and I don't see of any way of getting around that fact. Does anyone have a suggestion on this point or just something that needs to be worked on in the future?

I think you've done a pretty solid job with this mod in general. To polish it off, as many others have alluded to, we would need to accomplish several things.

1) A set of maps which go with the mod (although, others have made maps of Westeros & Essos, though from what I've seen so far there's left much to be desired)

2) With these maps there should be permanent starting locations for the various Great Houses and Free Cities. It is kind of ridiculous to play as House Stark and begin the game in the Dornish Marches.

3) Change the tech progression and/or slow its pace down considerably to make the game realistic to the medieval world. The mod shouldn't aim to progress out of this era -- no gun powder, etc.

Also, I could envision a number of other features which would build a rich world akin to the happenings in "A Song of Ice & Fire" -- maybe there could be advanced diplomacy, beyond what Civ 5 offers, which includes political marriages and the like. Furthermore, there could be enhanced victory conditions (for those familiar with Rhye's and Fall of Civilzation for Civ 4) for winning the Iron Throne as well as subordinate victory conditions for winning the support of your bannerman or gaining powerful alliances with the Free Cities. Just some ideas of directions that a mod based upon GoT/ASoI&F. I'm thinking to try my hand at modding as well, though I don't know a damn thing about it... lol

** correcting #3, I misunderstood the tech progression in that much of the tree is locked.

I believe the Dragons should be much stronger (they are designed well, except should be about 32 instead of 16) and less expensive to maintain, but perhaps only purchasable with faith. Considering Dany's isolation is captured fairly well in this mod, her civilization cannot but be this isolated community worshiping the Mother of Dragons and with enough faith, new Dragons are born.

That is clever. I might test that out on my own sometime soon and see how that plays out.

Did you try this? I altered the strength and cost of the dragons, and then accumulated a great deal of them in preparation for an attack on Westeros, then had to set the game aside for a month to work etc., updated the game and now it doesn't load unfortunately.

I went a different way with the dragons. I think it's quite clever. Daenerys will no longer be able to build dragons, but will start with 3 and must keep them alive and upgrade them over time for them to gain strength. The change will come in an upcoming update which will also fix a number of bugs.

Ahh, that is cool. It will be tough right at the beginning too - with all the barbarians (which, I consider a good part of the game play for the isolated houses btw, it really makes it a life and death struggle). Look forward to the new update and many thanks for putting in all the effort!
