Sid Meier's Civilization V

Sid Meier's Civilization V

A Mod of Ice and Fire (G&K)
Can't load mod in Civ5 MOD selection screen
From what I've been able to troubleshoot, Civ5 can't unpack the mod file it downloads. Im suscribed, and I can see the downlaoded file in me Civ5 game folder, but it isn't unpacked like other mods are. I've tried deleting the mod database, but to no avail, as well as unpack the Civ5 mod manually with 7zip. That unfortunatley yeilds 7zip yelling at me with an broken file error for every file in the mod...

Anyone have any ideas?

Anyone That has still had trouble with this, try installing it manually as if you were on a Mac (i.e., follow his Mac instillation instructions). I've noticed some issues with file permissions and security if your steam folder is on a different drive, that Civ5 cannot sucessfully unpack the mod, so you must download and unpack it yourself.

I've had the same problem and looking at the comments it looks like other people do as well. I tried your suggestion but it didn't work and unfortunetly I don't have any idea how to fix the problem.

While in game, and you click "get mods", and you unsubscribe and resubscribe, does it look like the mod (within the mod selection screen in game) goes through the downloading screen and install screen, but then doesn't show up?

Yes it does.

Yeah, that is an error with your system not being able to unpack it. To confirm this error, in your Mod directory (~\Documents\my games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\), instead of the folder, a .CIV5MOD file would be there. Download the Mac mod link, and unpack it yourself with .7zip, and place the contents (the whole folder) into that same directory. To get the game to refresh its mod directory, delete the Civ5ModsDatabase file from the ~\Documents\my games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\cache\ directory, and start the game. Im sorry I'm repeating myself, but thats pretty much the only way to work around this issue. I've confirmed this fix also with the mod "game of thrones the clash of kings (v 1)", which showed the same error.

Best of luck to you!

Thanks for the tip, hopefully it will work.

Hi, I'm having trouble downloading the mod on my Mac. I have the map and Scenario loaded, but the mods menu isn't coming up (Maybe that's just because of Gods and Kings) but I don't have any of the leaders, religions, or GOT units available to me. I was wondering how I could fix that. I know I separated the map from the original mod and put it into the maps folder of the main game, can I do the same with the leaders, religion, units, etc?

Same problem here (on PC). No CIV5MOD file though. My other Civ5 mods are there but nothing for this one, the one I wanted to play the most! Can I download this mod from another site and then drop it in?

A link to the mod files can be found at the bottom of the mod description on the mod page in the Steam Workshop.
