Bug Reporting/Limitations
Please add any bugs in this thread. I will address them as soon as I can.

Known Bugs/Limitations
  • For non-vanilla planet preferences may have issues with*:
    • Lost Colony - Creating a random spawn home empire
    • Climate Shift - Altering the climate
    • Nuclear Mutation - Removing the original planet preference
  • Lost Colony random spawn home empire uses a random name (your homeworld will be Sol III, not Earth). Not sure how to fix this.
  • Lost Colony random spawn can sometimes be a hive mind.
  • Alien Message needs new Message.
  • Dyson Engineers - Bugs due to having no hyperlanes.

Known Incompatible Mods
  • Human Revolution

*There is a compatch out for Planetary Diversity.

Got this error on game start:

[21:39:18][trigger.cpp:306]: Invalid Scope type for trigger is_same_species in events/cbshing_origins_lost_colony_start.txt line : 619
[21:39:18][effect.cpp:287]: Invalid Scope type for effect change_species in events/cbshing_origins_lost_colony_start.txt line : 620

Hi ViolentBeetle, yes this is an error I am aware of but I haven’t figured out how to fix it or what it does. This is executed when a random homeworld is spawned for the Lost Colony civic. I should mean that the pops don’t convert over to the right species when I do the species swap in creating your homeworld. But when I check the pops and the species tab they all appear to have changed to the correct type. It could be related to the bug that elizebell and silent001 saw. For a quick fix though I am planning to execute the change_dominant_species code again once they press the start button to see if that can temporarily fix the issue until I can investigate more. Thanks!

@Violent Beetle, turns out that this is the bug that elizebell was seeing. The change_species code was not executing, which meant your country's government was seeing your pops as another species. Still haven't found the bug silent001 had, so I'll have to keep investigating.

@=IOM= Metro Man, I will try to figure out the bug. One question, are you running any empires with Lost Colony that are human? Should be unrelated, but since that civic makes the biggest changes to the base game it may be a possible root cause

Yes I am running Lost Colony civics with other Human empires. Will test it without the civics

Thanks! If the issue turns out to be with the Lost Colony civic I have an idea what might be wrong and could make a patch soon. If it turns out to just be the Eternal Leader civic it’ll take me some time to debug

@=IOM= Metro Man, thanks for figuring out that the bug is with the Lost Colony civic. Unfortunately I am away from my gaming pc until tomorrow, so the earliest I can make a patch is tomorrow. Hope that is ok and thanks again!

Your welcome.

Hi @=IOM= Metro Man, I think I should have fixed the bug now. Please let me know.

It appears I had the scopes for the Home Empire messed up when setting the Leader's species (set it to the Lost Colony species, which was replaced with the Home Empire species). I did some limited testing and my leader was recognized as from my species. Thanks again for finding the bug and have fun!

It seems that there are some issues with non-vanilla species portraits and Lost Colony. I tried to create the Lost Colony and force-spawn home empire with mod-portrait species but it kept assigning random planet to my species' origin world. Worked fine with vanilla portrait.

@Amberlight, which non-vanilla species portrait mod did you use? There is a known issue with the Human Revolution mod. However it does work with the BE Humans mod. I’ll look into the code and see if I can optimize it some more.
