how to install properly?

playing CK2 with no DLC and some mods that i do not think would impact this mod. i have gotten the github version. there does not seem to be anything when I start a new game. is there anything else i need to do? do i need DLC or some other mods?

edit: after playing for a while, i have realized that i probally need the custom ruler DLC to get a vampire/werewolf/dragon/etc. ruler at the start. i will work with what i have instead
