I've actually haven't been thinking about it myself, but this I think can say to you, that after a whole night thinking about it, these are the updates we will be adding to this mod over time.
I want to work on functionality and reliability as opposed to flash - flash is pretty easy, since there are many good artists around. But again, it will not be easy, but I could use some help if you can provide any with regards to the following:
The THEME
I had it in my mind originally that since this is Starbound, and it's our own where the real story of Starbound takes place, so it should't be based off the Star Wars canon galaxy if we can help it. So rather than visit the original Star Wars locations, you will mostly find (for now) small bases, outposts, rigs, and lairs for all manner of charaters from the Star Wars universe - Imperial Stormtrooper outposts, abandoned droid factories, smugglers' hideouts, Rebel camps and so forth.
DEBUGGING
The biggest issue with the mod so far is the issue of bugs. People have mentioned issues with crew members and Jedi/Sith NPCs, so I will be checking on those next after I have created a new mod/debugging tool to go with this mod specially to deal with this issue.
This is the biggest issue at present, and I admit, I have not begun work on this yet so far, but if any of you are willing to give it a go, let me know.
MOD SUPPORT
SWCM under me and projectmayhem83 originally was meant to include mod support for various mods - Frackin' Universe was one of those. It was intended to be rolled out through the addition of new NPCs and tenants. While we have not produced any of those for some time, my plan is for myself and any collaborators to introduce a new NPC tenant once every 2 updates.
As at present, the 501st Fanboy is being worked on.
GRAPHICS
As many of you can see, a lot of the furniture of this mod just isn't up to scratch or isn't epic enough. So while I have added new SWG-inspired content, and others besides, a lot of the old graphics inspired by the vanilla version still is in here. This however is a slow and extensive process, and may be ongoing as long as any of us still play Starbound.
VEHICLES and MECHS
We originally had 3 mechs planned, of which only the AT-KT body is in existence. We may be adding more over time, but as I have mentioned it is a slow and difficult process, even harder than graphics.
NEW SHIPS AND DUNGEONS
Finally, we come to the biggest issue so far - new ships and dungeons. If anything this is the biggest issue that I myself cannot personally deal with at present. I don't know if I can ever help out, but it would be great if someone could volunteer their time.

QUESTS
Since this IS a Star Wars-based game, obviously, our quests should try at least to explore the original locations of Star Wars, some way or the other. Most likely if any new missions appear they will allow players to visit locations already included under SWG.
