When crafting the doors from plasteel, the doors have more health than their maximum health. So for example the big blast doors read that they have 12000 of 5600 health points. When the doors get damaged, they can not be repaired unless they fall under the 5600 health points. All damage that still leaves the door with more than "max" health can not be repaired.
