As if Mercy from Overwatch was the only character to ever have wings like this. You funny.

Thought you were gonna call them a Destiny Gundam or Magnion or Aether Wing Kale ripoff.

...Point there being, as that pile of salt said, Mercy was not the first character to have wings of this style. The fact Overwatch is annoying popular does not invalidate a common artistic visual from existing with past characters in gaming and other visual media.

I can't understand understand how so many people see Mercy in this. And for someone to go to the extent it wouldn't get added? You have to be joking. I honestly see Zone of the Enders in it, or mecha in general with it's style.

Overwatch didn't come up with this design, nor does it honestly look like her Mercy's wings imo. Not enough energy coming out of it. (which is fine!)

Destiny Gundam came first before Overwatch so i doubt a copyright claim would be appropriate

You know, I try to be respectful to people even when they don't like my work (not everybody will) but you need to pick your words better or something. What you're saying is that I copied this from Mercy, but I think, if you did some crtical analysis, you would see that's simply just not true.

It's fine to say it reminds you of Mercy, that's a completely valid observation. But to say I copied it when there are no elements I can identify that are the same between the two designs is just irresponsible. I mean the structure of the wings aren't even the same and that's like the largest component of the silhouette.

I really thought about just ignoring this post, but you disrespected me as an artist and belittled my work with your gross oversimplification.

I have been w8ing for a sidana like this sence warframe 1st came out and if this doent get voted in ill never buy ANYTHING from warframe again

The first thing I thought of was Mercy tbh. However on closer inspection they remind me a lot of Destiny Gundam's wings :P

Incorrect. I'm not saying you copied anything. I was saying that this looks very similar to mercy's current 3d model and that blizzard would probably have a field day and end up copyrighting it if it was added to the game. I personally like this design but like I said, with copyright law in the very grey area that it is today, I feel as if this could be a possible case for blizzard if it was added into the game and I doubt that the developers of warframe would take that risk. I think you're clearly too fragile as a person with your comment of "disrespecting you as an artist and belittling your work" so honestly, you need to check what you say before going off for no reason. Saying "Since its completely and utterly basically mercy's wings" doesn't mean that you copied it, its saying that when looking at it from the outside, one could see the striking resemlence and thus it could create a cause for concern of a possible copyright suit.

PS: at no point did I say or infer that you ripped them off, it was just an observation that they look very similar to mercy's wings or as other posters have said, the Destiny gundam.

Implying blizzard could do anything copyright related on the basis that these wings somwehat resemble mercy, as well as litterealy dozens of other misc characters.

Or its someone who understands copyright law and how much of a grey area it is. Also, do you think that a 12 year old would even have watched hellsing loool.

not a single court in the country would find this actionable. " what's that? you want to sue a bunch of canadians who allowed a third party to put a digital pair of wings into their game that only slightly resemble the wings of a character in your video game?" does this person who understands copyright know just how difficult it is to sue a company in a different country for copyright?

not to mention even if they did sue and even if the devs of warframe sent a representative to the US to answer the suit, then blizzard would have to prove that the wings were designed with mercy in mind as the final product or that they were using mercy as a guideline
