I got a bug report about Japanese daimyos from my user.
I found the cause is in a file events/flavorJAP.txt
This file is obsolete, so you need to update it.
My colony did not colonized a single province over maybe 100 years.
So I wonder if it is just for Japan's colonial nations or all colonial nations behavior.
Also at max technology when you press upgrade fort it upgrades your fort something called "Modern Howitzer" Fort level 18 or 16 dont remember now. In map provinces with that fort has a capital fort icon instead of normal one. You can not see a fort icon in province screen just a blank square and a little red icon for destroy it. Also I did not find that building in build screen.
I just updated the flavorJAP.txt-file. Thanks for letting me know!
@The Law
The colonial behavior is not changed by the mod. So I don't know what causes this.
Regarding the Forts, it seems you found a loophole ;) The "Siege Weaponry" buildings are not ment to be build. They are justed used to give the sieging army a bonus by attacking obsolete forts in the late game. That's why I didn't add an icon where you could actually build them ... guess I forgot about the option of upgrading to the latest fort :D
I just updated the trigger conditions for these buildings, so the game actually forbids you from building them. So if you press the update button now and you have a "Siege Weaponry" technology, nothing happens.
PS: You might want to delete that fort in your current game ;) It's probalby quite overpowered as an actual fort :D
And thank you for the report!
I'm pretty sure something has changed colonial behavior. Perhaps it is in the base game. I've been playing as great Britain and my Eastern North Amercia colonial nation has only been developing its capital going on 50 years. It has around 20 provinces and I am subsidizing them so that they are up to a reserve of 400 ducats. Something is wrong but I have no idea what that is.
It is a base game problem. Lot of people complaint about that in official paradox forums. Sometimes this bug occurs and sometimes not. Pray RNGesus for your next game :D
Damn. Thanks for the response. Hopefully Paradox fixes it soon.
Seems to be a visual glitch only.
there are also several lines in the institution files "is_in_the_capital_area" where it should say "is_in_capital_area"
This mod isn't being worked on for a long time, and it seems to be dead. Someone made a update for a version of EU4 earlier, but you would have to search for that in the comments of this mod.
And then look for which version of eu4 that mod is ok with, because the most up-to-date version of eu4 isn't.
