The randomness of this bug also made it very hard to debug since I can't even replicate it myself so I have no idea what is actually causing it.
Added: I'm actually starting to think that the arrows are colliding with something mid-air. Something like map triggers and the like. Hence why on a clear map meant for exploration, posing, or maybe even other gamemodes outside of Sandbox the arrows work entirely as intended. Meanwhile, on any other type of map they don't work very well, like Half-Life 2's campaign.
Find that weird seeing as it was supposed to have been fixed at some point.
Either way, yes, the arrows seem to collide with triggers and the like still.
