Alternate WAD File sources
(before anyone says anything, please know that I understand that the DooM WAD files are not allowed to be on the workshop)
I currently have the original doom 3 (installed with the 3 disks before it came available on steam) but it is not the BFG edition. is there a fixed file that can be used from that to make this mod run?

Unfortunately, no classic DOOM games are bundled with the original release of DOOM 3.

I'm having a little trouble: i have the Doom 1 wad but some textures are missing, like for the super shotgun. Any ideas?

DOOM 1 doesn't have the super shotgun. Use the WAD from DOOM 2 or Final DOOM if you have either one.

I also do have the original doom 1 and 2 on disks, as well. could I use something from those?

Yes. Look for the file DOOM2.WAD, it should be somewhere in the DOOM 2 files.

Because the WAD contains all the assets used for the mod.

and this way it's more like mounting Doom 2 opposed to porting doom 2 assets. plus it encourages you to support ID by buying the game. Or you can just use the Freedoom wad

It needs to be in the garrysmod/garrysmod/ folder.

its because the Super Shotgun was added in Doom2 it wasnt in Doom1 so you need Doom2

Where can i get a doom 2 WAD file because all the ones i have found have the words hack and god mode and such PLEASE HELP

Although there probably might be one somewhere on the internet; the most reliable and safest method is to purchase a doom 2 game disk or get it as a digital download. I have an actual disk from the win95 version that works perfectly.

It's available on Steam. If you get Doom 3 BFG Edition it's included in that. Or you can use freedoom, it should work but it'll all look weird.
