Current issue:
Not getting the value from server ini - tested on linux. Works on single player
Turns out the setting actually works in multiplayer, but the trough icons that should appear above dinos, only shows under vanilla radius.
Trough icon fixed.

Some reason we can't place the objects. Just installed on my dedicated server which automatically installed on the clients. The engrams exist, we can craft the objects (crafting table) but we can't place them. We get the green outline of the object, but when clicking to place it makes the "sound" like the item was placed but the item doesn't actually place. It remains in the player's quickbar.

I reinstalled the mod on the dedicated server and manually (steam workshop) reinstalled it on my client, same issue.

We're running the most recent version of Ark, the most recent version of the mod, using the Island map. As a special note, we also had this issue with Tavan's Trough which is why we removed it and are attempting to switch to your mod.

I'm very familiar with cleanly installing and removing mods so I'm somewhat doubtful it was something I did during the install. Other mods we're running, such as stackable foundations, are also working perfectly.

Added note, I also tried to spawn in the objects manually (giveitem command) just in case the issue was limited to the crafting table, but they wouldn't place either. Also, I tried placing items in this manor both with and without the engrams being learned.

I did some testing and could not replicate the issue in either singleplayer or multiplayer, so it would seem that this issue is most likely unique to your setup / server.
My suspicion is that this may be caused by another mod that alters the default Feeding Trough in some way, because the Fused Troughs are modified copies of the vanilla troughs, so any core changes to them, are inherited by the troughs from mods like this one.
If it is not caused by a mod, then the only other thing I can think of that may cause such an issue, is corrupted game data files, but it is unlikely since that would probably crash your server instead of preventing placement. But I would recommend doing a data verification on your server and client(s) just in case.
Hope this helps.

Hey, sorry for the long delay in replying. Not like me, I usually respond right away but somehow I missed this until now. As I recall the actual problem with placing actually WAS a corrupt file on the server. Server didn't crash, but the item wouldn't place because the server didn't know what it was... Or something... Anyway, it was fixed with a reinstall of the mod.

Now onto a new problem I just discovered. Not sure if it's specific to the Crystal Isles map or not. We built a base on a beach and had our trough out in the center of the zone just placed on the ground. Preserving trough worked beautifully, except I wish there was a way to default the green ring to off... Anyway, when we went to the powered trough we found it didn't work. It was powered but nothing inside would preserve. I did some testing, moved it around the area, even tried placing a second one. Same issue. Then I tried putting a foundation under it and suddenly it worked. Thinking it might be due to it having been on the ground, or maybe detected as in water? Not really sure. I was able to reproduce the issue and recorded a short video demonstration if needed.

Hi! Love the mod, I have an issue though. The range indicator is kinda always shown, though it's deactivated. You can get rid of it by 'Show Visible Area' then 'Hide Visible Area', but when you leave base and return only minutes later, the indicator circle is active again (without being activated in the options of the through, mind you).
I know it's an old mod, but any thoughts?

Hi. Thanks for the feedback. AFAIK the trough is not supposed to have a range indicator to begin with, so it might be something caused by an ARK update, that I haven't noticed yet. I know I did not implement any form of a range indicator so it is kinda interesting to hear that there is one :riddle:
I just recently finished a mod for another game so I'll definitely have time to update my ARK mods soon, then hopefully I can get this sorted out for you guys. I'll post back here when I do.

Hey, just wondering if you had a chance to look at the mod yet. Still seeing the dreaded "green ring" every time we come into range of the troughs. You can turn it off, but the second you leave and return it's back on even if the setting is still off.

The multiplier setting does not work.
On all troughs the value is 1.0
