Multiple API Keys in gameusersettings?
Hopefully this is a easy one to answer...

I have a cluster (Island & Abberration) and the host has symlinked the gameusersettings and the game.ini files so my question is can I put multiple keys in the gameusersettings so all functionality is available for both servers?

Many thanks

Not at the moment.

It would need a way of defining which server to use which key for. At the moment this is not the case.

It may be easier to have it so that you can set the key via command line parameters.

Would that work for your setup?

Setting the key at the command line is also not an option. The ADK does not give access to read the command line.

ah ok, I have added both already and was hoping to use the cross server chat cluster thingy. I have the main server linked up with the api key in GUS.ini

Could it not be defined as:
[ArkServersPlus]
APIKeyServer1=XXXXxxxxxXXXXX
APIKeyServer2=XXXXxxxxxXXXXX
APIKeyServer3=XXXXxxxxxXXXXX
(the above could be set by the system when the registration of the server happens. So not only the API Key itself but also the initial definition)

Obviously this would not be needed if the server host does not symlink the .ini files ;-)

You can just use RCON with out the mod for cluster chat, you just cant change the rates, and send the fancy notification message without the mod

actually, you can try to use the mod with out any api key, the api key is just for stats tracking.

If you try to use the fancy variables in your messages like {XPMultiplier} it wont work, but everything else (Sending those notifications and setting the rates should work just fine). I'll work out a method that eliminates the need for the api key all together.

OK thank you @Twisted sorry to be a pain in the arse. I don't think there are many hosters out there that symlink the files but due to the cluster needing identical settings it does make sense from the perspective.

I will run some tests today as I have a long weekend so will have a play and report back to this thread ;)

Thank you for the prompt replies and help that you have kindly given

I have the same problem on my servers. I do only have 1 central config.
I think many self-hosters does have this problem.

@Twisted
The easiest way to solve that problem is when you define a custom config-file for the api key. Place that config file under the servers /Saved/ folder (Each server out there has its own save directory --> so this solution will work for all kind of configurations out there)
Not sure if technical possible to do that...but that would be great and a working solution for all.

An other idea would be that you take ip+port or domain+port as key for the servers. (Or calculate a hash depending on that)
IP/Domain and Port is a must field to add a server to your page. So this should be usable as key?

I've already come up with a solution to remove the API key from the config.

Nice!!!! Looking forward to the update :)

Getting the same issue on our side :)

Would love to get this running on all of our servers for allowing multiplier changes on the fly :)
