Same thing happens to me! Any solutions?! This happens on two seperate computer, one 64-bit win 8 one 32-bit win 8, I used to use synergies mod fine on a previous windows 7 computer and pretty sure on the same system with win 8 early upgrade.

I should've quoted back as I found a fix that worked for me. You must go into the folder and delete your old character files from different older versions of the game, essentially you cannot bring forward an old high level char. to synergies mod unless you started him on synergies mod. Instructions are as follows:

C:\Users\<PCNAME HERE>\Documents\my games\runic games\torchlight 2\save\ (then theres a file name with a long number, the save files for the chars are in here.)

Delete those and reninstall the mod, maybe the game too if it doesnt take you long and all should be fine. All I had to do was delete the character saves from older versions and it worked like a charm!

I tried that and it didn't work, so now I will uninstall the complete game and redownload everything again. I'll report back if it works then. But thanks for the suggestion anyway! (:

I'm hitting this too. Tried deleting saves. I now see the Synergies loading screen instead of Vanilla, but it goes black for 3 seconds, THEN crashes. So I make it a few seconds farther in the loading process. Any more insight as to what is occurring?

Well, when I did do the work to fix it, I had first googled the issue, reading a while I eventually found something to the likes of what I had mentioned above, however it seems not to be working for Ghojo in this instance. My personal instinct would be back too the google board. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance m8s!

I got it to work. What I did was to completely delete the game (also the game files, saves, etc. under my documents) and then I installed it again.

Now it works like a charm. I think there's something with the save files, mod files or profile files that conflicts and makes it crash.
I had to start a new character but that wasn't so bad.

I uninstalled the game and reinstalled and hit the same bug. I'm guessing Ghojo has something right. I think there is something in the files that aren't deleted that's causing a conflict. About to head out of town for the weekend, so I'll try this when I return and post my findings then.

Yea you still cant use old chars, getting rid of pre mod char saves is a must in this proccess!
