Paladin Feedback, for the light!
So I just want to say I'm a returning Synergies player after not touching it for a couple years, and I'm amazed paladin isn't actually "finished" yet, so I decided to give it a bash anyway. And I want to post my first impressions/feedback here... sorry if there's another place this should go instead, it's gonna be a bit longer than the average comment.

So just looking through the skills it seems most of them are working, even if a few are in odd places, like the activated "aura of radience" being in the passives area, and a couple are missing information, most notable being "angelic embrace" which has no information other than a description. Some skills, such as a few of the blessings, seem like placeholder effects like "+1% health for 30 seconds," though I could be wrong and they could scale well later. Despite this, most of the skills I've used so far work fine aside from "justicar's blade" which does not seem to use charges to increase its damage like it says it does (not to mention the charge bar doesn't do a good job of indicating how many charges you actually have, but I digress...)

Actually using the skills that work is a blast, I love the effect for "abolition" and "consecration," "righteous cleave" is great for mowing down the opposition quickly but costly. I like that some of the skills have synergy, such as "render judgement" icreasing damage against a target and the "justicar's zeal" passive granting amazing bonuses if you kill something that has judgement's debuff on it. My only complaint here is that killing something with "render judgement" itself does not grant you a buff, which is annoying considering weaker enemies you want to use it on to actually get the buff in time often die to the attack itself on veteran difficulty.

I like that the class seems to be focused on a dual wielding damage-all-the-things playstyle, with so many skills that grant elemental damage making focus an attribute you want to invest in, and a passive that actually increases your execution and crit chance, which synergizes with other abilities that give you bonuses for critting. Putting in self heals like "lay on hands" and "consecrate" along with a very powerful armor passive make it so you can actually sustain yourself in melee without a shield, even without passive life regen or lifesteal. I also like that the class is easy to learn, but could take some effort to actually master when you want to use your abilities.

As for suggestions, I think outright killing something with "render judgement" should give you the buff from "justicar's zeal," and maybe that the debuff that "render judgement" applies should last longer than 5 seconds. Maybe it does once you've levelled it, but I haven't gotten that far. I think that the charge bar in the gui needs to be improved and give a better indication of how many charges you actually have, like the engineer does, also a description telling what kind of passive bonuses it gives.. if any. If there are no passive bonuses for charge finalized yet, I would suggest attack speed, execution chance, lightning/fire damage (maybe based on your weapon DPS), and armor.

So far I love this class, and despite it not being finished I think I'm going to try and finish a playthrough with it. I really hope this class gets finished soon. Thank you so much for this fantastic mod.

- As far as i know, its being completely or almost completely reworked, so I´d expect something kinda different from what it is right now.

here is what happened:

I made the Necromancer and envisioned a paladin and Warlock. After Rewriting the whole mod twice I decided to hand the paladin to someone else and focus my attention on the warlock, and game content.

The paladin had a small amount of updates over a year and was never finished or balanced, and was slated to be reworked by the person working on it. During which time I completed Tier0, Tier0.5, Tier1 and the Warlock and many other functions in the game.

late summer I took the paladin back over but had a bit more work on Tier1 and I started and finished the ranger instead of finishing the paladin.

I have over this last week been working VERY heavily on the paladin. I am going to make it as fun and exciting as I can. its a lot of work making a class in Tl2, and I will polish this class as much as all my others ones in as short a time as I possibly can.

It is my MAIN priority right now.

check out the forums (dev notes sub forum) at www.synergiesmod.com for update info. and the paladin sub forum.

I'm glad you took the time to reply, and glad to see that even after all this time you're so dedicated to this mod, and addressing all the comments people make.

I'm sure you'll do good finishing up the paladin, it's already a lot of fun as is.
