However, I did include a feature that allows the player to respawn if they want from the level they died at. ( I included it because forcing the player to restart from the beginning is very punishing. )
Did it not work for you?
It is because Purple Rifts are supposed to reset on death, so they coded it to be that way.
It would of course be better if there was a way to retain the pages (rift pons aren't too important) through code, but since that's not possible, using Acts and vault tickets would do to alleviate the weight of the mod's length.
And I can make it shake much less if you prefer. I do not want people getting sick or irritated from it. I only intended to convey a "everything is wrong" feeling.
I may be able to do an act select at the beginning. But completely splitting the level into 3 would be a lot of effort to make work properly, so it would be more of a "choose your start point"?
Ah, that works! And it's a relief that there's nothing in the storybook, so next time I don't have to worry about it. Then again, Storybooks can be, like, just text instead of pictures... I don't think anyone's realized that yet, though.
As for the shaking, is it affected by the game settings thing that affects shaking? I haven't used that setting yet.
Alternatively, I can include little cheat codes similar to my cheat to make it to the final boss from the first level that I included in the mod page. That way I could quickly implement this and get back to work on my 2018 Halloween Contest horror map. (Since I do not know how to make an act select yet. I only know others have done it. (And learning how might take some time...))
And best of all, depending on how long your contest entry, you can probably use this same trick on it.
Thanks!
Between making the Halloween mod, a huge top secret project, and my new Niko Hat mod (released an hour ago), I have a lot of things to do. So I hope you do not mind waiting for a bit before I can update this mod.
