What is the "AC2 Lootcrate" and how do I use it?

Sometimes I get an item that has a weight of 75 and is called "AC2 Lootcrate" and it says that it has gear and somethings from this mod, what is it and how do I get the so called "gear"?

if you've never played Genesis 1 or Genesis 2, it's essentially the same as the lootcrates from those DLCs. Just use the item as if it were a consumable!
