Firstly, I have played this mod from back when it first started and I love it. I think the Osiris update is awesome and an improvement to the mod regardless of what many people have been saying.
That said, I think that the gold earning system should be updated so you can earn gold twice as fast. The only reason I say this is because I think this is a balancing issue e.g. everyone starts out as a recruit class (good idea btw), but as the rounds, progress and the bots get harder and stronger the vast majority of people cannot afford to upgrade their troop or equipment, along-side the bots upgrading.
