Gold on Hit as a Server Option
I recall in Amber it was possible for the server to set how much money you earned per hit if you could bring that feture back I can almost gurantee you'd see an increase in traffic on the mod. One of the biggest problem in the mod is the speed at which you gain gold and the futile nature of the gameplay. That is if your playing on a server and you die 5 second away from a hero thats generally it.

In other words the moment a couple of people die on the server thats it, you're all dead. While exceptions are possible I must stress that its vary rare to see that ever not be the case.

Adding back the ability to change the gold gained on hit would change the nature of some servers making some servers easier and less frustrating to play if your playing on a time crunch. A good example of this is say I've only got 2 hours to play before i need to get off for work best case sceranio the game goes perfectly and 2 hours come by and we are near the end. Worse case I've replayed 20 different maps and factions 90 different times.

PLEASE READ THIS IF NOTHING ELSE: The ability to change the amount of gold gained on hit would be lovely, the ability to reduce bots waves so the game can be played faster for those pressed on time would be lovely ( I understand if thats not possible). A siege like limit on the number of deaths the player has before respawn would be preffarble to the current wave based system or in suppliment to the current system. Most importanly the game should focus on the indiviual players of the game as opposed to mass co-operation. Thats not to say you can't work together but the fact is that unless you get luckly most people just wanna play the game their way and even when you work together someone is always made to suffer. A good example of this is the shield wall, its critical to the survival of everyone else, YET! if your just holding right click it earns you no gold and is boring as ♥♥♥♥.

We have purposefully decided not to give servers the option to select the amount of gold players get for hits and kills. As you say, this was possible in previous versions, and it ended up with every single server always having the most amount of gold possible. If a server had any less, it wouldn't get any population because people preferred an easier start. So that option is not coming back. However, we are aware that the current balance favors long and slow games, and includes long waiting times as well, which is the #1 complaint we get from players (and rightly so).

We would love to have a gold system that promotes teamwork more (rewarding support classes or shielders more, for example), but unfortunately we are severely limited in our options here due to how little influence we have over the gold system. It's simply a very rigid system that cannot easily be modded in Warband.

Finally, you bring up a very good point about introducing a siege-like limit to the amount of respawns. We had not considered that system while making the mod, and I will definitely bring that up in the team to see if we can implement that somehow to reduce waiting times.

Thanks you for your response firstly. Secondly I wanted to adress the point of of the gold on hit adjusment while I understand that allowing servers to change gold on hit would encourage playerss to only play on certain servers I don't feel if thats a bad thing, I also feel it could be easily challenged by labeling the servers with higher gold on hit as "EASY MODE" because no one really enjoys playing on easy mode naming the servers as such would encourage those who just want to relax with friend to go their and those who want a challenge to play on the other servers. If at all possible I would recommend running just 1 server on "EASY MODE" so that way you have the option. Currently the game experiences a high peek once per day then operates with only 1 server actually populated for the rest of it. I don't see what exactly would be the difference between running one server thats easier for players to play and only having one server because no one wants to spend 2 1/2 hours only to die on the last wave.

I'd understand your argument aginst the gold on hit change more if it werern't for the fact that I've ever seen a max of 3-4 servers decently populated at any given time. If you were to re-emplement that system I would be willing to bet that it would positivly affect the number of players your recieve. That being said I do understand where your coming from and only having 1 server everyone wants to play on could be just as damaging. However I think branding that server as "EASY MODE" and encoraging an idea that its only a part of the whole experience could postively effect the community.

Also Would it be possible to impliment a sorta persistent world esc. selliing system in which you can sell things for additional money. Or Mine or something like that. While this would be more of a long term fix and potentially impossible a system in which you could earn money outside of just killing enemies might be benefical. Or maybe a system in which certain types of enemies give a gold buff. I'm not familar with modding M&B so if say something you know to be impossible sorry. But I would say a system of selling items could be benifitical maybe so it doesn't crash the game make it to where you can only sell boss items or legendary.

unique enemies giving extra gold would be cool as ♥♥♥♥. As for mining and ♥♥♥♥, thats a total meh, completely alien to the genre of play this mod is going for. If anything, Giving other players money would probably be better, as much of the time the top few have so much money they are literally just buying legendaries for others.
