Luxury merchant?

Am i the only one who doesnt get how to get the luxury merchant to work??
If i spawn them they just attack me?
How do i make it so that i can just buy stuff from them?
I made a Merchant stand but i cant seem to use it.. doesnt do anything when i press interact

Currently trying to figure this out myself. I try and spawn with the passive drop down, but they just keep attacking me.
