I just did it. You need to explore the tree and then left of the tree, outside the fence you can find something and that does the trick.

I have the same problem now in Craster´s Keep. I can´t find the things i need to explore.. Can somehow help?

I found a chest in the grass behind the house. Where the fence is open! I shall continue the guest!

I'm having the same problem at the fist. I found the chest, opened it, took the ♥♥♥♥ inside and now nothing is happening. If I tab out my only option is still "explore the fist"

Yes. At the keep there's a chest *and* a sign looking thing on the door of the main building. You need to ping both of them to complete it.

i already found the chest and saw the sign, but there is a 3rd, where????

Guys pls help, I have taken EVERYONE's advice, and there is just no chest in whitetree. When I exited the game after over an HOUR of searching; I spawned at castle black and can't finish the quest (cannot go back to the wall to go 'ranging')

could someone pass the mission?

late reply but after you find the hall and chest you're suppose to speak with the rangers there and then you'll be able to continue
