Total War: WARHAMMER II

Kaedrin's Mod Manager v1.9.0
Errors when starting Kaedrin's Mod Manager - list of problems and solutions
So as quite a few people have problems atm, i thought how about we gather all the problems and solutions people have in this discussion.
I will also update this first post when people find new problems and solution.

So first let's get some basics done:
1. Run the programm as admin. To do that right click the programm, go to properties, click Compatibility, and turn on "Run as Administrator" - This can fix a lot of your problems.

2. Shut down your computer , wait a minute, restart it and try kaedrins MM again.

Now to the Errors and solutions!

Error 1: Can't find path to at least one Total War game!
Solution: go to AppData/Roaming/KaedrinsModManager and delete the GameData.XML file. Restart the manager and it should work. (thx to Saruman of Many Colours)

Error 2: Steam must be running in order for the manager to work!
Solution delete the %appdata/roaming/Kaedrin's Mod Manager folder, then reinstall Kaedrin's Mod Manager (thx to AnalyticalFireball)

Error 3: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to Path XYZ:\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\xyz was denied

Error 4: Unable to delete mods

Error 5: Launcher doesn't start (even after deleting and reinstalling)
Solution: go to AppData/Roaming and delete the Folder "KaedrinsModManager", install the latest official version from Github.(thx to Commander FPS)

I cant get my MM to run lol it keeps telling me to launch steam when I always have it on. Is there a way to bypass the Steam running requirement?

It's really annoying trying to use it for Napoleon or Empire and it just hits me with "Steam must be running...".

@Etno Gabba, did you try unsubscribing and resubscribing from all the mods in that folder and/or delete it, so that steam downloads them again? it could be a failed download.

So, I tried to get this to work for TTW 1. Followed the instructions, but now the game is not starting with or without the mods, for some reason when I try to launch the game it always goes to blackscreen and crashes
i can't delete certain mods, not sure what to do, i press delete and when the manager refreshes they're still there and now they're turned on

Hey so I can't get the launcher to launch. It was working fine for a few months up until yesterday. Tried everything I could think of, even deleted and reinstalled the mod. Any help would be welcome.

I am stuck on the Unable to continue prompt that says Mod Manager can't work without the path to at least one Total War game existing!

Do you have to have the game downloaded through steam for the mod manager to work? I have the game from preexisting file downloaded onto my computer, but can't seem to get the mod manager to start.

Hey folks. I just downloaded the mod manager, extracted the files and put the shortcut on my desktop. However, when I double-click the shortcut, the loading icon (Mouse turns to a circle briefly) appears, but then it goes away and nothing happens. No error, just... nothing.... any ideas appreciated.
I've ran as admin, restarted and I have Steam running.

I have the same issue as drankazi83

I just downloaded the mod manager, and put it in a folder on my desktop. Even with steam running I just keep getting an error that steam is not running.

even with admin enabled :)

I was able to run the mod manager before, now, if I try to activate any mods either through the manager or the CA one it results in crashing after the splash screen

unless you alredy tried:
1. start the modmanager
2. disable ALL mods
3. klick "Reset Program Settings" under the File Menu OR if that does not work try "clean data" which will delete all the mods from your data folder though.
4. close it
- Now do the same with the vanilla launcher -
5. try to start the game without any mods now
6. if it works, activate the mods in the CA launcher OR in the manager, but never in both at once.

Anyone work out a fix for the 'Steam must be running in order for the manager to work!' error? (obviously I have already made sure Steam is running!)
