bugs and things to improve upon!
Im still rather rusty with modding, so there's gonna be some hitches. Modders don't give up! they just lower their expectations.

This mod has a major bug in that it isn't compatible with the first viskal mod. (which is ironic) I have no idea how to fix this at the moment.

The voices for the viskal and the calvar are also the same. which shall be fixed in a update down the line. if you have anything to critique or help me improve with, please do post that here!

The art is really well done, but the animations are a bit "stretchy". I imagine that the more mechanical peices are solid, so in the animations where some of the shoulder bits stretch is a bit odd.

Also the colour variants are a bit lacking. I'd love to see the same 3 variants, but just more random colours for each (like the vanilla species.) Always having a brown or grey pop is a bit boring.

I'm not really sure about the lore behind here, if there is any major lore, but I'd really like to see more variety within the random pops. I prefer the legacy version of the other Viskal mod, but it basically has the same quirk. I think minor things like a more diverse colour options would make it far more enjoyable. Nothing exotic, but maybe more shades of the same, and a few different, colours.

edit: How about a name list? I'm using some that fit the look of the species but a custom name list that is accurate to what was imagined for these guys would be sweet.

I'll see what i can do for the animation, working with that is very time consuming and time has become increasingly scarse, but colour variants are another story, i'll add them in the next update!

New ones look great! Could you do that for the legacy and other versions also?

Also do you know if the new colours will spawn in if I am already using the mod in a savefile?

it'll likely work in the save file, but it's better safe than sorry to start a new game, unfortunately.
also, yes! i can also add more colors to the other too versions.

A bit of a clipping like issue happens when you go to view your species on a planet. They appear to "pop" into frame, instead of just being there.
