If it is an issue with a current mod, you can normally fix it by placing AFT at the bottom of your load order.
If that doesn't fix the issue, then the problem is likely with a disabled mod that is still baked into your save game. You can test this by starting a new (temporary) game. Once your binds are cut in Helgen, use console to spawn some followers and see if AFT is working. Instructions for spawning followers are listed at the back of the in-game AFT Readme book (should be in your inventory).
Hi rezzzman,
I have exactly the situation as you described. AFT is not working with the current save, but it is working in a new game.
So what can I do now to fix this problem?
Best regards

EDIT: Already solved. Works when you use the Save Game Script Cleaner from here:
