As a passive ability he could have a bigger range and see further than the other characters and being able to shoot from further away.
Maybe, if balanced, The Huntsman would be preety nice.
(Apologies for my bad english mate)
Good Luck!
edit: apparently its censored for some reason? okay cool nevermind
I was thinking, maybe a "Mode" where the Sniper would stand still and ready up whatever he has at hand to shoot, while on this mode he is completly unable to move, as stated, and as you move the mouse around it moves the camera away from the Sniper on the top down perspective, in other words, the further you place the mouse on the edge of the screen a further you can see and shoot, this would be the Sniping mode.
Another good mechanic to add to this would be, if he stays on this position for a longer time, we could hear a soundcue (Possibly the same from TF2) and the Sniper telling us he is ready to shoot or some around those words, and then the next shot would deal more damage, but would make the enemie mob that was shot target him instantly.
I think that could be good, even for working together with your teammates, The Sniper is a suport class afterall.
Tell me what you though of this (Also, I stil lthink he should have wider view range than the other characters by default, for obviouse reasons).
(Edit: and wider shooting range too by default).
DS and DST haven't ever had manual camera functionality so programming this sounds potentially like a lot of work.
BUT! I think that would make the SNiper really unique if achived, its all on your hands my friend, the decision its yours.
