FAQ
The new education system is terrible! I'm waiting for too long, all my citizens are still uneducated!
Yes, the new education system since the last game update (Campus DLC) is different.
Real Time handles that better since version 1.19 - some arriving citizens will be educated, and there will be some teens and young adults that come to your city. In vanilla game, only uneducated adults with uneducated children arrive.

Note that it will only work if the Better aging option is activated in Real Time and the "Citizen Lifecycle Rebalance" mod is not active.

My elementary schools are overcrowded! No one graduates from elementary schools!
Indeed, children will graduate from elementary school. But they now need 5 game days to get educated. The teens need even 10 days to graduate from high school. Students need 5 days. Just wait for that. Don't build as many schools as possible to satisfy the elementary school demand, but rather plan wisely.

The vanilla game sends only adults and children as new citizens. No teens and no young adults. This makes the whole situation a little bit more challenging, because you always have many uneducated people. If you don't like that, use the Citizen Lifecycle Rebalance mod - it can change what kinds of new citizens move in to your city.

If you don't like that slow and more realistic education at all, disable the Better citizen aging option in Real Time settings. But then, be prepared for the "death waves" and super-fast education that the vanilla game offers by default.

Speed 6 is too slow! I need speed 7, 8, and 10!
Nope. Speed 6 is even too fast comparing to the citizens movement speed. That makes the whole simulation very imprecise. Real Time is about time and schedules, so it's essential to have a somewhat realistic time speed. There will never be time speeds faster than 6 in Real Time. If you don't like it...Well, then maybe Real Time is just not the right mod for you. Look for alternatives.

My commercial buildings show "Not enough customers"!
This is because of how the citizens choose where to go shopping. If you have commercial districts that are located far away from the residential and industrial buildings, citizen will visit them less frequently.

Is it a good idea to activate this mod with my existing well balanced city?
It depends. The reason is that your city might become very unbalanced right away. Real Time changes a lot in the citizens' behavior, so you might encounter major problems with commercial demand, industry, and maybe even tourism, because you designed your city for the vanilla citizens.

Plan wisely when you start a new city. Or be prepared to change a lot in your existing city to balance it again!

Can I turn off the realistic building time? It's so annoying.
You can change the building speed in the mod's settings. Set it to 100% to get your buildings almost instantly.

I cannot plop the growables!
If you experience problems with plopping the growables (buildings become invisible or do not appear at all), change the construction speed to 100% in the mod's settings and it will work fine.

Why does the sun go down already at 4 p.m. on a temperate map?
The sunrise and sunset hours are roughly the same as in real life and depend on the map's theme (latitude) and the current day and month.

If you don't like this feature, you can deactivate it though. Then, the default sunrise and sunset time will be used.
