You can actually put any craft in orbit of any planet uning the Alt+F12 debug menu.

The vessel mover mod will let you spawn on planets so I just build a small lander and land wherever I want to go and then spawn in any craft.

I did a video on how to do it. It's out dated now for some of the stuff but it shows you how to make a craft hover in a static position.
