Are there text lines planned for this character? Or will they eternally be stuck with "..." for every action they take?

I just peeked in the localization files and it looks like him being mute is intentional. The only exceptions he has is when he's at Death's Door, where he just says "Hm", and when he gets chosen to get killed by the Heart of Darkness, where he grins.
The character is based on the Doomguy (AKA the Doom Slayer) from the Doom series. Which, among other things, is known for not uttering a single word.
Yeah, that's a shame. I understand why they don't, but I would have liked to see some lines.
Would've loved to see him speak "something", at least it would've made the character more relatable and likeable, perhaps dry humor would do. But well, this is his schtick I guess...

It would be intresting if instead of having the Slayer speak he would connote through gestures on rare occasions such as (hand twitches erraticly) (gasps) (a treacle of dark blood is visible of his mask)

yeah, like when he gets hopeless, you hear him whisper "Damn, no, not again" and his trinkets speak of, doom's stories? i dunno what i'm gettin' at
The thing is, he's still susceptible to generic barks, such as what characters often say when they open a curio with a resulting negative effect, or when they're waiting to be recruited in the stage coach. He's not totally mute, which... kinda sucks, honestly. The whole shtick really only works well if it's all or nothing, but I'm actually not even sure if there's a way to fix that based on the way the game's coding works. Generic barks are hard-coded to affect all characters, vanilla or not. But hey, at least it's pretty funny to see him be all tough, quiet, and solitary in almost all scenarios, only for him to suddenly start whimpering and whining when you click on the Darkest Dungeon mission with an underleveled Slayer slotted into the party.

It's also funny the other way around. I actually laughed out loud when I got him to "pep-talk" another hero with complete silence. Tbh, he shouldn't have the standard camping skills at all. it seems oddly unfitting.

Good touch.
But it's a bit too medlival. He is a demon hunter after all.

Even so i really liked the idea of describing his actions instead of his speech dialogues.
Cracking knuckles fits so much to him.
I'd love any combination of these ideas.
