Game Crashing when assaulting cities.

When the time to assault a city comes, game loads the battle fully but goes to a black screen with only my cursor visible. Can play field battles just fine. Mods are in order. Happening with sub-mods enabled and disabled. Anyone have any ideas what this could be?
