What is the point of food supply chains?
there are many supply chains that involve food. some are simple like dried fish, but others are a little more complex like makeing cake. is there a point of making all these "special" foods, or should i just stick with raw resources?

Generally, (havn't verified this is always), more complex foods feed more colonists than the same raw foods. Think of it as a multiplier effect.
