(All of this is on ASA PS5)

So I downloaded the Human NPC mod thinking it would be amazing. My first day I came across a small (2 buildings, 4 NPCs) village. I thought, Great! This is a great intro to the mod. Except they had tamed a Rhynio, plus they one-hit KO me and my dino with their tranqs, they can bola you and your dino, with nothing you can do about it.

So I turned off their dino-taming mechanic. Way too OP.

So then I moved to the forest right next to my starter base (which, btw, is always at South Zone 1 (Easy). I immediately got swarmed by (not exaggerating) 50+ NPCs. It was instant KO. I had to enter creative and try to kill them, but they just kept coming, so I ended up ForceTameAOE to get them all. I had 50 tamed NPCs by the end of it, it maybe two dozen had died in the fighting before I did the AOE tame.

If I dont fly around in creative mode, I have to fly too far above the ground to be able to scout well, just to avoid the tranqs they hurl way further than anyone should be able to throw them.

Fast forward to me thinking I am going to have an OP force to be reckoned with now that I have these tames. I offed the ones below level 100 and set them to harvest. However, there is no way to tell them what to harvest or what to do, so they just walk around gathering berries that they just eat. They dont eat from the trough, so I guess it's good that they feed themselves, but they dont interact with any of my structures (except one wall torch they keep turning off and on). They open doors and dont close them behind them, which lets hostiles into my base. They dont harvest stone or wood, even though they go through the motions of doing so. Their inventories are always empty.

They all have armor and weapons/tools in their inventory.

If I didn't already have this group of NPCs named after people I used to play ARK with, I would remove the mod.

I am hoping for some insight, and maybe I am just messing up something. Please keep in mind that for console you cannot edit .ini files.
